Scones anyone?

We've not shared with you the secret of Calay's Bakery which is about a mile away.  I have this thing about loving scones.  And anyone who has coffee with me knows that I have tried Starbucks, the local coffee shops, and even the PDQ gas station to check out the "worthiness" of their scones..  But, I REALLY lucked out here in Green Valley and we found Calay on the second day!!  Just gaze at all these.
Our favorite is Lemon Raspberry, and we've evaluated them all.  6 will last us almost a week( I limit me to 1/2 a day).  They also have the caramel pecan rolls that my brother likes.  Cookies are sort of just ok.
So far we've resisted the candy.  They don't have Michigan sour cherry candy which is Jim's favorite.  Not to worry.  He found candy hearts for Valentine's Day.  Unfortunately, I haven't found my favorite cookie yet.  The Farmer's market/Craft Fair has several booths that sell cookies.   We'll try the Lonely Planet Bakery again this Wednesday.

Neighborhood Flower Update
This is the most gorgeous Mountain Laurel that I have ever seen.  The flowers have a very delicate fragrance which is good as there are millions of grape like clusters.

This stalk is a century plant flower.  I'll check back to see what the tiny buds at the top do.
A pink oleander bush.  They are a major landscape plant here in Esperanza Estates.  Most are allowed to grow quite high and are used as a privacy screen.
This is a star jasmine and the fragrance is wonderful
These light green flowers have a tiny red center.

If Paul Bunyan needed cowboy boots..
