Around and about

We've been out and about in Green Valley enjoying a relaxing time.  We went to a library sponsored lecture on the history of the Santa Cruz River settlements.  Very interesting but somewhat the same for the native Indians who lived on the land being removed first by the Spanish Jesuit missionaries, then Spanish settlers, then Mexican ranchers and miners and then of course, Americans.   They also talked about the fraudulent Rio Rico Arizona housing subdivision development after WWII that featured sales of land that would never be developed.  I remember people talking about investing and losing money.  So Rio Rico was that actual site.  Now, Sun City and retirement communities are all over here, but are fair and managed well.

Jim's partially finished puzzle
Sandringham House, London England 1000 piece puzzle  This one of 3 left in our town home.  Jim thinks he'll skip the third.

I was missing having quails around. like we had at Vistoso.  Then these guys showed up while I was sitting on the patio.  These funny nervous little creatures hang out in a group and call to each other with something that sounds like "Where are you?"

We got the humming bird feeder cleaned and refilled and promptly had visitors.

First Rode to bloom in the rose patch on our side patio.  It smelled sooooo good.
I couldn't resist these decorative flower pots.  I tried to find some that weren't too southwestern for Wisconsin.

We're off to new territory- the Chiricahua Moutnains and Cocshise last stand stronghold.  We'll report back tomorrow.
