Phoenix Hall of Flame Museum, Musical Instrument Museum preview

Jim and I drove to Phoenix to visit friends and toured the Hall of Flame Fire Museum. It was a wonderful display of really old fire engines and up to date fire equipment.  There was a Hall of Honor for all fallen firemen.  I have soooo many pictures, but no time to get them posted till Monday.

We found out that the Pirsch Company in Kenosha made many fire engines.  It was great to see this hook and ladder.  It is call a All-Power( hydraulic and mechanical lift, extend and turn ladders)  Aerial 1937.

This is one of the fire engines that has a driver to steer the back half.
Ladders for all lengths.  More on Monday

On Friday we went to the Phoenix Musical Instrument Museum and stayed for 5 and 1/2 hours and still did not see it all.  Just wait till I get all these pictures posted.

This museum provides head phones which narrate the exhibits. So there is a visual explanation and a musical example to listen to.  And there are sooooo many exhibits.

The special featured exhibit was drums around he world
Have to include the Marching Band exhibit.  Would you believe the example was Harrision"s  Dream, Rosemont Cavaliers 2010

There was a large display of how Martin guitars are made.  I could have taken 45 minutes to see all the information here.
How Steinway grand pianos are made.
Back on Green Valley now and the best magnificent sunset yet.

Good night.
