Musical Instrument Museum

Only 2 days left in Arizona.  But I wanted to post the rest of the pictures from this great museum in Phoenix.  It is well designed with headphones that add audio to each exhibits' video explanation and excerpts of music played by the instruments.  Wander around with us.  There is much to see, listen to and learn.

Special Exhibit - Drums around the world

This huge gallery has exhibits from well known musicians. It was great to hear some of their music.

This military green piano is called the G.I Victory Piano

Jim and I tried playing one of these in the demonstration gallery.  I can't imagine how anyone can play music on this thing.

"This Old Guitar"

 Mechanized 'dance Organ
It was amazing to see the drums, accordions, saxophones, marimbas play!!

And even more amazing to see that the mechanism is played by these paper pages

We didn't spend too much time here.  There are many harps, drums, and other percussion instruments that everyone can play.

We only had time for 1/2 of this exhibit and will have to come back for Europe, Asia and he rest of the world.

Time to head back to Green Valley.  We'll have to come back next year.
