Tonto National Forest and Roosevelt Dam March 12

Wanderings
Off we go for a 21/2 drive north to Roosevelt Dam located in the
 Tonto National Forest.
I never get used to the view on mountain after mountain range.

This is an amazing view of two colliding mountains.  The left one slants upward and the right one slants downward.

Any stream that has water in it is such a rarity.
Blooming flowers, like water, are a surprise in this desert environment

Our first view of Roosevelt Lake
This far east side of the Lake level might be down 15 feet.
A lovely carpet of tiny yellow flowers merits a picture!!
Tonto National Monument

View from the Visitor's Center looking back at the Lake.

Early native settlers, named Salado, here lived in   caves.

The path to the top was very narrow.
This cave is not accessible except on weekends
Off to see the dam.

This barrier keeps boats from getting too close to the dam.

Sailboats in Arizona!!!

The bridge leads to Payson, AZ
Back through the impressive mountain ranges to Oro Valley and the condo.
